In this article, you’ll learn how to upload pictures and use the picture manager to edit and organize them.
The new Image Manager helps you save design time and increase productivity.
The new Image Manager can be found in the following elements:
- picture element
- any widget element
- video element
How it works : On a different device, Pagefly will generate duplicate images in sizes relevant to that device to improve image loading speed and page speed.
For example, in the full view, you upload an image of “my-image-01” with dimensions 1140 x 760.
As a result, on the laptop, you will find a new image called “my-image-01-994×663”.
On a tablet, you’ll find an image called “my-new-image-01-738×492”.
On mobile, you’ll find an image called “my-new-image-01-290×132”.

Here are 3 options for uploading images:
- Upload from computer
- Import from internet
- Choose from picture manager
Upload from computer
Select the first option Upload from computer [ ] > then select the file from your device.
You’ll see a progress bar as the image uploads.
Import from internet
Also, you can upload files using the image file address.
Select Import from Internet [ ] > Copy the image address into the text input box.

If you want to use a recently uploaded file, simply select [ ] from the image manager using
Tip : If you’re in the picture manager , you can easily upload pictures by dragging and dropping files.
If you drag and drop a file, that file is selected by default. But drag and drop multiple, no file is selected by default.
Hover options
When hovering over an uploaded image, 2 options appear:
- Reselect another picture from the picture manager . The picture manager will pop up.
- remove image
Picture editors provide you with basic but useful tools to edit images. You can resize, flip, rotate and even crop images.
Use the picture manager
Picture manager has 2 tabs: My Pictures and Trash
First look at the My Pictures tab.
In the picture manager , there are 2 ways to add pictures:
- Import from internet
- Upload from computer
Tip : You can easily upload pictures by dragging and dropping files from your computer.
If you drag and drop a file, that file is selected by default. But drag and drop multiple, no file is selected by default.
View options
There are 2 view options here, they are:
- grid view
- list view
By default, images are sorted by:
- Date: The most recently uploaded photo comes first. Older photos can be found as you scroll down.
- Name: All photos are in alphabetical order, from A to Z.
image search
You can use image search to search for one or more images with similar names.
Picture editing
By checking the photo frame, you can select multiple images at the same time.
Rename
You can rename pictures directly in the image manager by clicking on the name in the image manager .
delete
You can select one or more pictures to delete and click the Move to Trash button.
Deleted images will be moved to the Trash tab.
Now let’s look at the Trash tab
In the Trash tab you can find options similar to the My Pictures tab. These similar buttons are:
- Upload from computer
- Import from internet
- View Options: Grid or List View
Here are 2 buttons we need to pay attention to:
1. Permanently delete
Important : If your image is used on multiple pages at the same time, when you delete it on one page, the image will also be deleted from the other pages. Unable to restore them all. You will be notified as follows.
2. Restore. You can restore all deleted pictures back to the My Pictures tab at any time.

Picture editors provide you with basic but useful tools to edit images.
You can resize, flip, rotate and even crop images.
In the picture manager, when you hover over an image, you can:
Create custom designs from different images
The special feature of the image element is that you can upload different images to use on different devices . By using this feature, you can enhance your brand image by bringing customized experiences to different customer segments.
Take a look at the video example provided below.
- . First, in all views, prepare the girly picture for the desktop view.
- Then, in the laptop view, you don’t need to upload a new image, so you see the same picture on your laptop as you see on your desktop – a picture of a girl in the forest.
- For a tablet view, prepare a picture of a large tree.
- Finally, prepare your Christmas images for mobile devices.

PageFly Resource Themes – Do Not Delete
This contains all images uploaded to the Image Manager. You can find it by going to Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes > Scroll down to see the PageFly resource theme – don’t delete.
One more important thing: don’t delete it, because if you delete it, all your images will be lost.
