# How to use Page Checkup in PageFly

## Page Checkup

Page Checkup is your page's built-in health expert. With one click, it scans your page for conversion, SEO, and performance problems, gives you a single Health Score out of 100, and hands you a prioritized list of fixes. Most fixes can be applied automatically in a single click, so you can turn a page that quietly loses sales into one that is ready to convert, without leaving the editor.

{% hint style="info" %}
Page Checkup is currently in **Beta**. Labels and recommendations may evolve as we improve it.
{% endhint %}

#### Overview

Page Checkup looks at your page the way a conversion expert would: Does it have a strong hero? Is there a clear call to action above the fold? Are headings set up for SEO? Do images have alt text? Are there reviews and FAQs to build trust? It turns the answers into a **Health Score** (0-100) and a checklist of issues, each marked **Critical**, **Warning**, or **Info** so you know what to tackle first. When a fix can be automated, you apply it in one click and watch your score go up.

#### Requirements

Before you run a checkup, keep these points in mind:

* **Plan**: Page Checkup is available on the **Optimize plan or higher**. New users may also have access during the launch-promo trial period.
* **AI credits**: Applying a fix uses **5 AI credits**. During the launch promotion, eligible stores get **10 free trial credits** (enough for 2 fixes) for **7 days**. After that, fixes draw from your plan's AI credits.
* **Save your work**: You can run a checkup at any time, but you must **save your page** before re-running it so the analysis matches what you see.
* **Behavioral and benchmark insights** (optional): To unlock data such as bounce rate, add-to-cart rate, and industry comparisons, your page must be **published** and have collected enough traffic. Allow **24-48 hours** after publishing, and at least **100 visits over the last 30 days**, for these insights to appear.

{% hint style="info" %}
Tips: Reading the structure of your page (hero, headings, images, sections) does not cost any credits. You only spend credits when you click a fix.

#### How to access Page Checkup

You can open Page Checkup in three places.

**Option 1 - From your PageFly Dashboard**

1. Open your PageFly Dashboard and find the **CRO tools** section.
2. Locate the **AI page checkup** card and click **Manage**.
3. Or scroll to the **Recent pages** table. The **CRO issue** column shows how many issues each page has. Click **Optimize** next to any page to open Page Checkup for that page.

**Option 3 - From the PageFly Editor**

#### How to use Page Checkup

Once the panel is open, here is the full flow from running your first scan to improving your score.

**Step 1: Run your first checkup**

The first time you open Page Checkup on a page, you will see what it can do for you and a single button. Click **Run checkup** to start the scan.

Page Checkup analyzes your page for a few seconds while loading placeholders appear.

**Step 2: Read your Health Score**

When the scan finishes, your **Health Score** appears in a ring at the top, color-coded so you can read it at a glance:

| Score | Ring color | What it means |
| ---------- | ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **70-100** | Green | Your page is in good shape. If any **Critical** issues remain, fix those first. |
| **50-69**  | Yellow     | Almost there. Reach 70 to make your page conversion-ready.                      |
| **0-49** | Red | Several issues are hurting conversions. Start with the critical ones. |

Below the ring you will see how many issues were found (for example, **5 issues found**) and a short status message guiding you on what to do next.

**Step 3: Review your issues**

Under the score is your list of recommendations. Each card shows:

* A **severity badge** - **Critical** (red), **Warning** (yellow), or **Info** (blue)
* A **category** - such as Conversion, SEO, or Performance
* The **issue title** and a short description of why it matters

**Step 4: Apply a fix**

Depending on the issue, you have one of two kinds of fixes:

* **One-click fixes** - Click **Fix** (or a labeled button such as **Add Hero section**, **Add FAQ section**, **Add Social proof**, or **Add Product showcase**). This uses **5 AI credits**, applies the change to your page, and marks the card **Resolved**.

* **Manual fixes** - For changes you make yourself, click **Add Heading**, **Add Button**, or **Add Image**. Page Checkup opens the Elements panel with the right element ready so you can place it.

When you apply your very first fix on a page, a short **Fix applied!** message celebrates the win and tells you how many issues remain.

For some fixes you will see extra options:

* **Choose a template** - When adding a section (such as a hero or FAQ), pick a layout from the **Pick a template** grid.
* **Choose your H1** - When more than one heading could become the main page heading, select which one with **Choose which heading becomes H1**.

**Step 5: Save and re-run**

After you make changes (especially manual edits), **save your page**, then click **Re-run** to refresh your score and see your progress. If you have unsaved changes, the Re-run button stays disabled and a reminder appears.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you see **"Save your changes to re-check the page"**, save your page first. The score always reflects your last saved version.
{% endhint %}

#### Use cases

Here are common ways merchants use Page Checkup.

**Add a missing hero, FAQ, or social proof section**

If your page is missing a key section, Page Checkup flags it and offers a one-click add. For example, **"Missing hero section"** (pages with a hero convert up to 2.6x higher) or **"No social proof or trust signals"** (92% of shoppers read reviews before buying). Click the add button, pick a template, and the section drops into your page ready to customize.

**Fix your SEO headings**

Page Checkup catches heading problems that hurt SEO and accessibility, such as **"No heading is set as H1"**, **"H1 is not in the first section"**, or a **skipped heading level** (for example H1 jumping straight to H3). Most of these are one-click fixes - just confirm which heading should be your H1 if asked.

**Add alt text to your images**

If images are missing alt text, you will see **"images without alt text"**. One click generates descriptive alt text for every image that needs it, improving both SEO and accessibility for screen-reader users.

**Compare your page against industry benchmarks**

Once your page has collected enough traffic, Page Checkup compares your add-to-cart rate against other stores in your category and shows where you stand (for example, **"Your 45.2% vs Industry avg 60.5%"** with a percentile badge). Use this to see whether a page is pulling its weight before you invest more in driving traffic to it.

**Hide a recommendation you already handle elsewhere**

If you already show reviews or an FAQ using another app, Page Checkup may ask, for example, **"Do you have reviews from another app on this page?"** Click **Yes, hide this** to remove that recommendation, or **No thanks** to keep it.

#### Frequently asked questions

**How much does a fix cost?**

Each fix uses 5 AI credits. During the launch promotion, eligible stores get 10 free trial credits (enough for 2 fixes) that are valid for 7 days. After that, fixes use your plan's AI credits.

**What happens if I run out of credits?**

You will see a message such as **"Out of credits - upgrade plan or top up"**. You can upgrade your plan or top up credits to keep applying fixes. You can still run the scan and read recommendations at no cost.

**Why is my Re-run button disabled?**

You have unsaved changes. Save your page, and the **Re-run** button becomes available again so your score reflects the latest version.

**Why don't I see bounce rate, add-to-cart rate, or benchmark data?**

These behavioral insights need a published page with enough traffic. Allow 24-48 hours after publishing, and at least 100 visits over the last 30 days, before they appear. Until then, Page Checkup runs a structural analysis only.

**Will Page Checkup change my page automatically?**

Only when you choose to. Nothing changes until you click a fix. One-click fixes are applied for you; manual fixes simply open the editor with the right element so you can make the change yourself.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.pagefly.io/page-structure-and-elements/optimization/how-to-use-page-checkup-in-pagefly.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
