In this article, you will learn to use the MailChimp form element to create a subscription form on your page. You can simultaneously check the MailChimp Help Center.
Step 1: Access MailChimp account
Access your MailChimp account first:
- If you haven’t had an account, click on Create an account.
- If you have had already, you just log into your account with Username and Password
Then, go to Audience > choose your audience.
Note that you just need to sign up/ log into this link https://login.mailchimp.com/. This article is not used for the MailChimp Form app of the Shopify app store.
Step 2: Go to Signup forms
Click the Audience and choose Signup forms.
Step 3: Select Embedded forms
Start to customize your form with functions in the left bar then hit Continue button on the top right when finish settings.
Step 4: Copy the Action URL from the code text box
Find the form action code > copy everything inside the quotation symbol, starting with https://….
In this example, the code here is “https://myshopify.us18.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=5cb4914c487b48b83e0a3d217&id=9c55a4087f”
Step 6: Activate MailChimp form element with the copied code
Access the MailChimp element
Step 1: Click on the Plus icon which is the Add element function
Step 2: Click on the MailChimp element in the dropdown menu
Step 3: Drag and drop the element you want into the page editor and then start using it.
Use the copied code
After dragging the MailChimp form element to the page, select it and paste the copied code into Action URL of the CONTENT parameter in the General tab.
|Field Input: Set up the Name Placeholder|
|Mailchimp Form Button: Set up the Button Type,Button Text and Icon Position|
|Icon: Select Icon and adjust icon size|
You can customize the styling of the Mailchimp Form element, Mailchimp Input Email and Mailchimp Form Button individually in the Styling tab:

Step 7: Save & Publish
Click the Publish button and you should see a confirmation message saving the changes. Then, click Live view to see the result.
As a result, when a visitor fills in their email address and hits “Subscribe”, they would be redirected to a subscription confirmation page. In this example, the subscription confirmation page looks like this. There is no way to stay on the same page when you click on the Subscribe button.

Limitation of the fields
Note that currently, the MailChimp Form element can only show 2 fields such as Name and Email. This does not support more than 2 fields.
