How to create a new page

In this article, you will learn how to create a new page with PageFly and edit its settings. PageFly pages can become a sales-killer and they can increase the conversion rate for your store.

There are 6 types of pages you can choose from:

  1. Regular Page (The Page URL will look like https://yourdomain.com/pages/your_path_URL): A standalone page, landing page or subpage for a marketing campaign of your store promotion.
  2. Home Page: A stunning brand-new introductory page for your store. Let your customers know what you’re all about.
  3. Collection Page: An add-on to attach more content to your current Shopify collection page, or a new one to fully replace Shopify’s default collection page.
  4. Product Page: An add-on to attach more content to your current Shopify product page, or a new one to fully replace your Shopify default product page.
  5. Password Page: A beautiful look to notify, entertain, or capture contacts of visitors when your store is under construction.
  6. Blog Post: A custom blog entry page to promote marketing content, your products or your brand.

A quick way to create a new page

You can quickly create a blog post page by selecting one of the two options:

  • (+) icon
  • [ Create a page ] button

After clicking on the option to create a new page, the Page Settings modal will show up. Here, you can pick a page type and configure its settings.

Then, you can choose a beautiful pre-made template or a blank canvas to start with. Each type of page has its own sections in the Page Settings modal.

Now, let’s dive into the steps of how to create each page type.

Create a Regular Page

  • Page Title: set a name for the page
  • Path URL: the page title will be automatically picked up as the path URL, but you can edit it to what you want.
  • Page Type: choose the Regular Page

Create a Homepage

1. Page Details

  • Page Title: set a name for the page
  • Path URL: The Homepage URL is fixed so you can’t change it.
  • Page Type: choose the Home Page

Create a Collection/ Product Page

1. Page Details


  • Page Title: set a name for the page
  • Path URL: it is fixed based on the Shopify collection or product you are editing so ignore it.
  • Page Type: choose the Collection / Product page you want.

2. Page Layout:

  • Header and Footer: to know more about the Header and Footer, you can read more here.
  • Default Collection/ Product Details:

There are 2 options for you to choose from: 

  • Show: itis an add-on page that attaches more content to your existing Shopify Collection/ Product page. 

In particular, you can add PageFly content above and/or below the Shopify Collection/ Product Details placeholders here. These placeholders will display the Shopify default collection/ product in your collection/ product page.

  • Hide layout: If you choose this option, a new product page that fully replaces the Shopify default collection/ product in your collection/ product page.

A useful feature of the custom layout is that you can build a new collection/ product page from scratch.

3. Page Assignment:

Select collection(s) or product(s) to which this page will be applied. Find the collection(s) or product(s) you want on the left column and select to add it to the application list.

There are 2 options you can choose for your collection/ product page. They are:

      • Custom: Select the collection(s) or product(s) you want for your collection or product page.
      • All: Select all collections or products for your collection or product page. You can see how it works in the example with the collection page below.

Do the same with the product page.

Remember: You can select, or de-select products by using either of the following methods:

      • Under the Available Collection/ Product, you can check a collection or a product box to add it, or un-check the box to remove it from the list.
      • Under the Selected Collection/ Product, you can select the (X) icon to remove the collection or product from the list.

When you finish setting up in the Page Settings modal, click on the Next button at the end of the modal, then Template Library is opened, where you can pick a suitable page template to start with.

The Template Library will open as per the image below.

Next, choose any template you want. If you want to start from scratch, go back to All types and choose the Blank option. You are now free to let your creativity run wild.
