# PageFly in Shopify Sidekick

Ask Shopify Sidekick about your PageFly pages, templates and test results, or ask it to build a new page and watch PageFly build it in front of you.

### Overview

**Shopify Sidekick** is the AI assistant built into your Shopify admin. PageFly connects to it, so you can stay in the admin and still:

* **ask about your PageFly data** — which pages you have, how they are performing, what a template looks like, how to do something in PageFly;
* **ask for a new page** — Sidekick takes you into PageFly, where the page is built in front of you.

You talk to Sidekick in your own words. Mention PageFly and it knows to use it.

Sidekick never publishes anything. Pages it helps you build are saved **unpublished** — they go live only when you publish them yourself.

**What you need:**

* PageFly installed on your Shopify store.
* Shopify Sidekick in your admin. Shopify decides where and for whom Sidekick is available.
* For building a page: AI credits on your PageFly plan. You can start without them — PageFly offers to top up when the build needs them.

### Ask Sidekick about PageFly

These answers are read-only. Sidekick looks things up and tells you; it changes nothing in your store.

Some answers depend on your plan, or on having run something first. If you have never run a page checkup there are no findings to report yet, and if you have no A/B tests there are no results.

### Ask Sidekick to build a page

1. In your Shopify admin, ask Sidekick for the page and mention PageFly — for example, *"Create a landing page for this product with PageFly."*
2. Sidekick gathers the details, then takes you into PageFly. You see **Preparing your page…** for a moment while the page is created.
3. The PageFly editor opens with the AI assistant panel, and the build starts on its own.
4. Watch it work: PageFly plans the page, then builds each section onto the canvas one at a time, naming each one as it goes.
5. Change anything you like, then publish when you are happy.

The page is created when you arrive in the editor, not when you ask. If you change your mind in Sidekick, nothing is added to your page list.

#### Change the page while it builds

You do not have to wait for the build to finish. Ask Sidekick for a change and it passes it straight to the page you have open — *"add a customer reviews section"*, *"make it feel more premium"*. You can type the same thing into the PageFly assistant panel yourself.

#### Getting a better page

PageFly plans the page from what Sidekick passes on, so the more you say, the less you have to fix afterwards. Worth mentioning:

* who the page is for, and what you want it to do;
* what must appear — a discount, a guarantee, free shipping, a specific claim;
* the tone you want, and anything to avoid.

You do not need to list the sections. PageFly decides the structure, and you can add, remove or reorder anything in the editor.

### What Sidekick cannot do with PageFly

* **Edit a page you already have.** From Sidekick, PageFly builds new pages only. To change an existing page, open it in the PageFly editor, where [FlyMate](/page-structure-and-elements/editor/extra-functions/flymate-pageflys-ai-assistant.md) can edit its sections for you.
* **Publish, unpublish or delete pages.** You do that yourself in PageFly.
* **Answer billing questions.** Ask about plans and credits inside PageFly, or contact PageFly support.
* **Build every page type.** From Sidekick you get a landing page, or a PageFly product page. Build home, collection and blog pages in the PageFly editor.

### Troubleshooting

| "This link has already been used or has expired."                  | The link from Sidekick works once, and only for a short time. Ask Sidekick again, or open PageFly and describe the page to FlyMate there. |
| "This store has reached its PageFly page limit."                   | Delete a PageFly page you no longer need, then ask again.                                                                                 |
| "The build couldn't start. Try again in a minute."                 | PageFly could not create the page at that moment. Try again, and contact PageFly support if it keeps happening.                           |
| The editor opens but nothing builds                                | Your store may be out of AI credits. PageFly shows you the options for topping up in the assistant panel.                                 |
| Sidekick says it cannot find PageFly                               | Check PageFly is still installed, open PageFly once, then try Sidekick again.                                                             |

### Frequently asked questions

**Does the page go live on my store?** No. It is saved unpublished; you publish it from the PageFly editor when you are ready.

**What happens to my AI credits?** A page built this way uses AI credits exactly as a page built with FlyMate inside PageFly does. If you run out mid-build, PageFly offers to top up.

**Sidekick attached a product to my request. Is the page linked to it?** The product is used to write the page. For a PageFly **product page**, assign it to your products in the editor, as with any other PageFly product page.

**Can I ask for another version?** Yes. Ask Sidekick again and you get a separate page — the first one is untouched.

**Can I leave while it builds?** The build runs in the editor, so keep the tab open until it finishes. What is already built is saved as it goes.
