Requirements

• To uninstall PageFly, please ensure that you are on the Free plan. If you are currently on a paid plan, kindly downgrade to the Free plan to avoid being charged monthly by Shopify.

How To Uninstall PageFly

Step 1: Access Preference To Uninstall PageFly

Go to Preferences > Account > Uninstall PageFly

Note: Select the “All published PageFly pages/sections including images, fonts, etc.” option to remove all PageFly data from your Shopify store. Check more information on what happens to your PageFly data here.

Step 2: Go To Shopify Settings

• You’ll see a “One final step” message.

• Click the Go to Shopify settings button to finish the process.

Step 3: Delete PageFly In Shopify Settings

• Go to Shopify Settings > Apps and sales channels.

• Click the Uninstall button next to PageFly.

• Select the reason you want to uninstall PageFly and click Delete.

A notification on the Shopify Apps page will confirm that PageFly has been successfully deleted.

Step 4: Remove All PageFly Code

If you want to remove all the PageFly code on your theme editor, please kindly follow these steps:

• Go to your Online store > Themes > Edit Code

• Enter “PageFly” on the search bar to filter all PageFly liquid files

• Click on these files > Click on the delete button to remove liquid file

• Open the Theme.liquid file > Find all PageFly code and delete it

• Scroll down > Open Locales folder > Open en.default.json file > Find and delete this PageFly code:

• If you have assigned a single product page to multiple products: Locate the product.liquid, collection.liquid, and index.liquid files in your theme directory > Revert each file to its original version.

Tips And Best Practice

Instead of uninstalling PageFly, you should downgrade your plan to the free plan to retain your data. This way, you can continue to edit pages you've built and utilize all of PageFly's elements and features.

Important: With the FREE plan, you have 1 slot (section/page) publishable; the other pages and saved sections will be unpublished and will not show on your store anymore.

If you uninstall PageFly and reinstall the app, a new pricing plan will be automatically applied, there is no way to go back to the old pricing plan.

• Go to the PageFly dashboard.

• Click on the PageFly plan > Change plan button.

• In the pricing table, you can downgrade to the FREE plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is it possible to restore data after deleting PageFly?

Once the uninstall process starts, all data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

If you uninstall PageFly directly from Shopify settings, your PageFly data will be stored for 24 hours. After 24 hours, all PageFly data will be removed and cannot be recovered. All pages and sections published in the live store will be kept and continue to show but you won’t be able to edit them any further.

If you want to edit your page(s) again, simply reinstall PageFly within 24 hours.

2. What happens if I uninstall PageFly?

After uninstalling PageFly, you will have the option to choose what data to remove in the Data Handling box.

• PageFly Data That Must Be Removed: These data must be removed when uninstalling PageFly per Shopify policy.
• All PageFly pages and sections

• Legacy page analytics data

• Option swatches

• Uploaded fonts

• Configured global styles

• Trashed items

• Unused Bearie coins

After uninstalling the app, the frontline store with all published pages and sections will remain visible, but you will not be able to edit them from the PageFly app. All settings in Global Styling, Option Swatches, and all unpublished pages and sections will be permanently deleted, even if you reinstall the app.

• Theme Data Generated by PageFly - Optional Removal: The theme data is generated by PageFly when you use it to customize your store's pages. You can choose to remove this data or keep it when uninstalling PageFly.

• Active theme templates

• Asset theme: images, fonts,...

Note: If you choose to delete the Theme data, all images, custom fonts, published and unpublished pages, and sections will be permanently removed. This will cause any pages created with PageFly to not display correctly in live view.

If you want to keep your published pages intact, you should not select the option to remove this data.

3. What are some important notes to consider when uninstalling PageFly?

Please consider the following things:

1. Once the uninstall process starts, if you close or reload the page during the data removal process, the process will stop. However, any data deleted before the stoppage will remain irrecoverable.

2. After data removal is complete, if you don't finish step 3: Delete PageFly in Shopify settings, you will be redirected to the PageFly dashboard with no data saved.
